The field used to be an orchard. When we moved to Penttilä, I cleared the area cutting down more than forty birch trees. The geothermal heat pump system needed 1,300 meters of tubing to be dug into the ground. I saved the last apple trees which were still growing there; in 2006 my sculptures arrived from having been installed on loan to the Finnish city of Kajaani for more than ten years. They had been transported to the Kajaani Museum of art in 1995 from various locations in Holland for my exhibition "in retrospect".
